Our Mission
Bridge of Hope’s main mission is to provide support services through sponsorship and ministering through the Ukrainian Eparchy of Edmonton, Alberta to underprivileged children in Ukraine that live at home or in an orphanage.
The below video, filmed in Ukraine, includes more information on Bridge of Hope, including interviews with children sponsored through our organization, the Sister Servants of Mary and our founder, Luba Kowalchyk.
About Bridge of Hope (Video in Ukrainian)
Volunteers in Canada & Ukraine
By working together, the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Edmonton and the Sister Servants of Mary Immaculate in Ukraine care and help for children in need. Bridge of Hope is operated by many dedicated volunteers spending countless hours fundraising and doing other work such as translating letters. The Sister Servants of Mary dedicate their lives to helping the children in Ukrainian orphanages and poverty-stricken homes.
We are devoted to the children’s well-being. This involves mental, physical and emotional health.
The Sister Servants of Mary
Sisters also work together with families in teaching the children Catechism and preparing them for their First Holy Communion. Many of the children often hear about God for the first time. With your help Sisters are able to reach out to the most needed and neglected.
The children are not given cash. Sisters take the child shopping and do the purchasing for the child. Many times there are more siblings in a family so Sisters buy needed supplies for all of them.
